Clifford Keith Band
April 21, 2017 @ 10:00 pm
Singer-songwriter Clifford Keith and his band are beginning to make waves in the Delaware music scene. The ‘Clifford Keith sound’ is described as a mix of classic country and early, energetic rock and roll. The band’s vocal style blends Appalachian Bluegrass with contemporary issues that resonate throughout modern culture. Currently, Keith is in the studio working on two brand new original tracks, ‘Excuse Me Miss’ and ‘South Country Blues.’ “Both songs encompass my goals as a musician,” Keith explains. He wants to bring brutally honest and heartfelt topics to his audiences through memorable melodies and tunes.
When performing live, Clifford Keith and his band perform a masterful blend of original songs of Keith’s and well-known country, folk, and Americana songs. Keith is heavily inspired by the likes of John Prine, Robert Earl Keen, and Johnny Cash, so naturally, those artists’ songs find their way into each night’s set. Fans of the band are often surprised, however, because Keith doesn’t want to be a jukebox for those standards. He reinvents them and filters them through his own sound, resulting in a delighted audience.
The group consists of Keith on lead vocals, his wife Erin M. on vocals vocals, harmonicist Luke Burton and a four-piece backing band. This is Keith’s first project as a singer-songwriter. He’s adamant about the pursuit of his passion, though, and he intends to continue to be a mainstay in the community as long as he can make a difference.
On April 9th, it is Clifford Keith Duo, performing as part of our Sunday Afternoon Music Series
